Therapy for Teens
For Teens:
Let’s be real – being a teenager is complicated! Between social media, school stress, family dynamics, and the pressure to “know who you are,” it’s A LOT. Here, teens find a trusted ally who gets their world and helps them navigate it all – without the eye rolls or lectures. Together, we’ll work on building self-understanding, managing stress, and finding their authentic voice.
Key Benefits :
- Catching Problems Early Address challenges before they become bigger issues. Think of it as "preventive medicine" for mental health and emotional wellbeing.
- Boosting Self-Confidence From The Inside Out 🌟 Help your teen develop rock-solid self-esteem that doesn't depend on likes, grades, or peer approval. They'll learn to trust themselves and their abilities.
- Creating A Safe Space To Be Real 🏠 Give them somewhere they can talk freely without fear of judgment or "getting in trouble." Sometimes teens need someone who isn't Mom or Dad to really open up!
- Learning Life-Long Skills 🌈 The tools they'll gain in therapy aren't just for teenage years - they're building a foundation for healthy relationships, stress management, and emotional intelligence that'll last a lifetime.
- Building Future-Ready Resilience 💪 Help them develop grit and bounce-back ability that'll serve them well through school, relationships, and life's inevitable ups and downs.
You can choose virtual sessions, in-person, or a combination of both.

Frequently Asked Questions
What issues do you treat in your teen therapy program?
I treat anxiety, depression, self-esteem struggles, life transitions, and trauma from specific events. Sessions are tailored to each teen's individual needs and pace.
Will my teen's sessions be confidential from me as a parent?
Your teen is the client, and confidentiality is a priority in their care, though it has limits in certain circumstances (such as safety concerns). As a parent, you have a right to know how things are going overall, but I won't serve as a reporter of your child's session details. Therapy tends to work best when parents stay supportive of that boundary.
What does a typical teen therapy session look like?
Therapy looks different for each teen, since it's tailored to their individual needs. For it to be successful, your child needs to be a willing participant in the process.
Do you only do EMDR with teens, or other approaches too?
Several approaches are combined to give your teen the best results, including EMDR, CBT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and person-centered therapy, depending on what fits your child best.
Do you offer virtual sessions for teens?
Yes. Sessions are offered in-person in East Houston and virtually for clients throughout Texas.
How do I get started / what happens in a consultation?
A consultation is a chance to discuss your specific concerns, ask questions, and determine together whether it's a good fit for your teen.
